API STD 1529:2005 pdf download.AVIATION FUELLING HOSE AND HOSE ASSEMBLIES.
4.4.5Adhesion
The adhesion between the hose components shall be aminimum of 3 Newton/mm (17,1 pounds force/inch) ofwidth for dry components and 2 Newton/mm (11,4pounds force/inch) of width after contact with fuel.
4.4.6Vacuum resistance
Type C and Type CT hose assemblies having internaldiameters of 63 mm (2,5 inches) or less shall withstanda suction of 5 inches of mercury (2,5 psi) and retain80 % of the original internal diameter when tested at20C5 C(68 F土9°F)-
Hose Type C and Type CT shall withstand asuction of 25,5 inches of mercury ( 12,5 pounds persquare inch) for 10 minutes at 20 ci 5 c (68F士9 °F) without suffering visual collapse of the tube, reinforcement, or outer cover. Hose Types E and F shallwithstand a suction of 20 inches of mercury ((10 poundsper square inch) for 10 minutes at 20 ci5 C(68°F上9F) and retain 80 %of the original internal diametcrwithout suffering visualcollapse of the tube, reinforcement, or outer cover.
4.4.7 Flexibility
The flexibility of the hose at 20 C± 5 C (68F士9°F) shall be such that, when empty, it may be coiledaround a test drum having an external diameter asspecified in section 6.5.6 without suffering structuraldamage or kinking. After the hose is uncoiled, it shallshow no signs of fatigue or permanent deformation(including length change) and, for Types C,CT and Fhoses,no increase in electrical resistance outside thelimits specified in 4.4.8.
The hose shall be flexible and retain pressurecapabilities at temperatures ranging down to -3o c±1 c(-22F±2 F) for normal hose and -40 c±1C(-40 F±2°F) for CT hose. The manufacturershall submit hosc testing resultsindicating themaximum registered torque required to bend the hosearound the test drum at a temperature of -30 c(-22°F) for normal hose and -40 C(-40 F) for CThose. The test hose specimen shall be pre-conditionedin a cold chamber at the test temperature for 24 hoursprior to testing. The test drum and specimen for hoseswith inside diameters of 75 mm (3 inches) and smallershall be kept in the cold box/bath during the test toensure the test temperature is maintained. For hoseswith inside diameters larger than 75 mm (3 inches), thetest drum and specimen must be at the test temperaturebut may be removed from the cold box/bath for the testprocedure. In this case the test must be initiated within30 seconds of removal from the cold box/bath.
4.4.8 Electrical resistance
The electrical resistance for Types C, CT and F hosesshall be between 1 x 103(minimum) to 1 x 10°(maximum) ohms/metre for an unpressurised hose afterthe proof pressure and flexibility tests.
The electrical resistance for Type E hose shall benot more than 100 ohms/metre.
Two electrical resistance tests shall be performed;one on the outer cover along the whole length of thehose and one to confirm continuity of the wholeassembly.
4.4.9 Kink resistance
There shall be no observable permanent deformation orstructural damage and noincrease in electricalresistance outside the limits specified per 4.4.8 after thekink resistance test.
Note: When hose is bent at too sharp an angle itmay kink and shorten the effective hose life, and anysuch kinking is not an acceptable or safe practice.Therequirement for a kink resistance test is included toprevent potential problems with hose kinking in actualfield use.
4.4.10 Fuel contamination
Fuel contamination shall not exceed 10 mg/100 ml oftest fluid(reference Fuel B, as described in ASTMD 471).
4.4.11 Fuel discolouration
The colour of the effluent fuel following the fuel contamination test shall not be less than +15 saybolt for normal hose and +10 say bolt for CT hose.
