1 Scope
1.1 These requirements cover wired cabinets (showcases) for use in other than hazardous (classified)locations in accordance with the National Electrical Code,NFPA 70.

1A.2CLASS 2 CIRCUIT – An isolated secondary circuit suitable for use in dry locations involving apotential of not more than 30-volt rms maximum, 42.4 volts peak, 60Vdc open circuit secondary

1A.6 WIRED CABINET – A furniture structure such as a cabinet or shelving unit provided withelectrical conductors to transmit electrical energy to receptacle outlets or luminaires.

2 components
2.1 Except as indicated in 2.2, a component of a product covered by this standard shall comply with therequirements for that component. See Appendix A for a list of standards covering components generallyused in the products covered by this standard.
2.2 A component is not required to comply with a specific requirement that:
a) Involves a feature or characteristic not required in the application of the component in theproduct covered by this standard, or
b) ls superseded by a requirement in this standard.
2.3 A component shall be used in accordance with its rating established for the intended conditions ofuse.
2.4 Specific components are incomplete in construction features or restricted in performance capabilities.Such components are intended for use only under limited conditions,such as certain temperatures notexceeding specified limits,and shall be used only under those specific conditions.
2.5 ARelocatable Power Tap (RPT) shall comply with the Standard for Relocatable Power Taps, UL 1363and shall only be mounted to the wired cabinet if provided with a temporary mounting means incorporatedas a feature of the RPT.The mounting feature is the only acceptable method of securement of the RPTto the wired cabinet.
Exception: Hook and loop and other securement means are allowed provided the securement systemcomplies with all of the following:
a) The RPT is removable without the use of tools;
b) No part of the securement means is located in the plane of the receptacle face;
c) There are no modifications of the RPT enclosure; and
d) The RPT is not secured by any electrical cord.
